Carr Astronautics Corporation was founded in 1991 by Dr. James L. Carr, President and CEO. 

The company is headquartered in Greenbelt, Maryland, with additional work locations in Lanham, MD and Europe. We are dedicated to advancing science and engineering through forward-leaning solutions and services, executed professionally and efficiently.

As a Small Business within SBA's <$25 Million standard, Carr Astronautics has performed as both a federal Prime Contractor (NOAA, DoD) and a valuable teammate to large aerospace companies such as Harris, Boeing, Ball Aerospace, Mitsubishi Electric, and Thales-Alenia Space.  Since 1991, our national and international collaborations with U.S., European, Japanese, and Korean satellite programs have advanced weather observing around the world.  We have created low-cost technology for capturing high-resolution aerial imagery to benefit America's farmers and the environment, and we have created technology to enhance the capability of UAVs to perform reconnaissance.
