Carr Astronautics Corporation - President's Message

At Carr Astronautics Corporation we grow ideas and people. Since its beginnings, Carr Astronautics has delivered quality services to our customers and we've been rewarded with many opportunities to apply our scientific and engineering expertise to challenging problems. Our scientific contributions to US and international weather satellite programs have earned Carr Astronautics recognition and opportunities for growth.

For many years, I worked side-by-side with several outstanding scientists, maintaining a "boutique consulting" sized company. In 2008, it was time to grow!

Since my decision to expand the company, we've grown our staff by nearly 10-fold, opened a corporate headquarters in Maryland, and have worked to give our employees the opportunity to contribute to the success of the nation's newest weather satellite. We are proud of our contributions to major engineering and scientific endeavors which have advanced the nation's, actually the world's, ability to forecast weather. We are not just doing engineering and supporting science, our work makes a difference in the lives of everyday people. Just ask the victims of tornados and hurricanes about the importance of accurate weather predictions.

Through significant research and development efforts, we have made great progress on low-cost high-resolution aerial imagery collection and data processing systems. Offered as a very low cost alternative to satellite-based imagery, these aerial imagery data products have helped farmers reduce their dependence on pesticides, enabled smarter application of fertilizer applied to fields, and identified overuse of chemicals that harm the environment -- all at an affordable price. Our geospatial systems and services are showing enormous potential for the Insurance and Risk Management industry, as well as, Homeland Security and Defense applications.

Carr Astronautics will continue its success because our associates possess a deep commitment to our company's mission. Each and every one of us are personally committed to delivering on our word, despite the hurdles we must jump as a rapidly growing company.
